Week 2 - Ada All Maya hard surfaces

So! I had to cut my progress on this short for the last two days because my hand was really starting to hurt, and I didn't want to injure myself.  The shapes are all done, I just need to do some sculpting and extracting of tiny details in Zbrush, then move on to my low poly!

Ada-1 Concept Bust with Crease+

I'm going to be modeling a bust of an early iteration of the Destiny 2 Black Armory Character, Ada-1.  Ada is a exo you encounter in one of the recent expansions to Destiny, and since she's both one of my favorite characters and a robot, she'd be a great change to learn Crease+ and do some nice hard surface modeling.  One thing I actually noticed about Ada's final design is that her face plate is sculpted in such a way to convey emotions with the angle of her head which I thought was very interesting.
I'm going to be doing an exploration of Crease+ in this project, examining the plugin and how useful I find it when constructing hard surface objects and breaking down how it is used.

Excalibur Texture and Lighting Pass

Alright! Here's the marmoset Renders of the Excalibur.  I think I might have to take another pass at the dirt distribution along the handle, it feels a little heavy but we'll see how people feel tomorrow.  I added a polish to the edge of the blade to try to emphasize it but I don't think it worked out the way I wanted it to, I'll take another pass at the lighting setup to try to catch that better.

African Venus

Lesson learned, don't sculpt hair
Here's what I found in my research on the topic, and a project I want to do going into my 3rd semester

Organic Sculpt Subject Pivot and Progress

The first thing you'll notice is how this is not a sphinx.
The sphinx turned out to be really hard to actually see in any decent resolution and as the sculpt went on it became more and more clear to me that the limited views I had of the original sculpture were not going to be enough.

Nerf Blaster Week 3 - Game Res and UV

Game Res and UVs generated, the bakes came out pretty rough so I'm going to try to take another pass at them after getting some advice in class tomorrow.

Hard Surface Blaster - Week 1

Week 1 Progress on the Nerf Blaster created in Maya.  I'm not as far as I'd like to be at this point, but I can try to put in some more time next week, balancing the Capstone/Gamelab/3D workload has been rough lately, especially with lead stuff throwing me curve balls all week.

Knife Week 2

After an unbelievable amount of headaches the knife is complete.  This project gave me a considerable amount of trouble because I didn't know we needed to save the original cages we used to construct our smoothed shapes.  Because I didn't cleanly save the cages in a separate part of my Maya file, I had to do a lot of picking around in my files to get the cages back but ended up needing to re-do a considerable amount of the work I had already done to get it all right.
